Courses

Scriba Traduções has been organizing courses on subtitling, within traditional models and via distance learning systems (in partnership with Aulavox).

To be informed about upcoming subtibling courses and other news, check our news section, read the blog A Arte da Tradução, follow us on Twitter or subscribe to our mailing list.

The most complete subtitling course, taught by Carolina Alfaro de Carvalho, covers subtitling techniques and practice for cinema, DVD and TV in a computer lab. Training is carried out with subtitling software Subtitle Workshop. The goal is to enable translators to cater for the high demand for professionals in this ever-growing field.

Registrations are currently open for an intensive subtitling course to be held in Rio de Janeiro in July 2012, with 42 hours, for English-Portuguese translators. Check our news section for more details, or visit the official page of this edition at PUC-Rio’s website.

This course was given in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2012, and in São Paulo, Brazil, in 2009 and 2010. A compact version of this course has also been taught three times in Spanish in Montevideo, Uruguay.

We can also organize customized offline or online courses in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. Contact us to propose a training project.
