Introduction to Subtitling: Two new online courses
Registrations are open for two new editions of our successful course on Introduction to Subtitling. Classes are taught through the Aulavox distance learning system.
Both have the same structure: five 1-hour long weekly online talks followed by individual exercises. Classes will begin in April 2010.
One group will work with translations from Italian to Portuguese and will be taught by Bianca Bold. The other will be from English to Portuguese, with classes given by Carolina Alfaro de Carvalho. All classes will be given in Portuguese.

She talked about the market of technical and institutional videos, while Bruno Murtinho (4 Estações) and Nick Magrath (Gemini Media) approached other relevant issues related to the translation and subtitling industry.

Plenty of good news!
Our website has just been completely renewed — something we had intended to do for a while. The motivation to finally release the new version is the latest asset to our team: our new partner Bianca Bold, who also brings an additional language — Italian.
We still plan to turn this website into a useful resource for translators and clients. We will implement new ideas soon.
Our services have also expanded. Besides translation, proofreading and subtitling, we are also able to provide on-site interpretation services, and translation and subtitling training courses, either offline or online.
Regular visits to this section will keep you posted news and activities Scriba’s partners are involved in. We also suggest that you read Carolina Alfaro’s blog A Arte da Tradução (in Portuguese).
